AXO comes out on top for a new shredding business.
Don Munro knows about the importance of security. He should, because for 15 years, he ran a successful security consultancy business. Recently, he decided it was time to diversify within the security field. Don purchased a shredding company, Confidential Document Destruction, which was operating a small-scale shredding service in Tauranga, New Zealand. The scope for expanding the business appealed to Don and he got straight on with planning the growth of his new enterprise - which included the purchase of a much bigger shredding machine.
Like most of us, Don's not the sort of man to make major capital investments without doing his homework properly. His research into the shredding industry was thorough. He looked at the global shredding marketplace in an attempt to discover which kinds of shredding technology were well regarded and why they were popular.
"I would call up these firms and ask them 'what sort of machines are you running?' I had these straight up conversations with the CEO's or operational managers about the technology they were using and how it was performing for them. Because I was calling from another country, people were happy to discuss their businesses, their markets and which technology was working for them," explains Don.
"We had a list of criteria and found AXO stayed at the top of the list most often. The technology was superior, and where AXO's products met with serious competition, their reputation in product and technical support was outstanding," Don continues.
Once Don settled on AXO to provide him with his shredding equipment, his business has really started to grow. Don hasn't wasted time in bringing new customers on board and he believes that security shredding makes such good business sense that it's not a hard thing to sell.
"It's about re-thinking your security logic," says Don. "If you're comfortable leaving your customer lists, products, processes and system information sitting around at a bus stop, then OK - recycle the way you usually do. But if you recognize that the loss of this information to a competitor is a big a risk, then you should seriously consider investing in secure shredding services."
Announcing AXO's new European office
We're pleased to announce the opening of AXO's new European offices in Bedfordshire, England.
The move was prompted by our strong growth within the UK and European markets. The new premises gives us more space to store stock shredding machines and we've been able to substantially increase AXO's holding of spare parts to ensure a rapid response to service calls.
The Bedford location was chosen because of its proximity to Luton Airport and major roads, which further increases the speed and quality of our service.
In addition to the increased warehousing capabilities, our new site has ample display space allowing us to demonstrate AXO's unique mobile shredding trucks onsite. We're pleased to see that several visitors from the UK and continental Europe have already taken the opportunity to visit for a demonstration.
AXO Sales Engineer, Dave Gilberd, is excited about the move. "We're really pleased with our new office and I'd like to welcome anyone interested in learning more about AXO's quality shredding equipment to come in and see us anytime. We'd love to show you around."
