Over the 15 years AXO has been manufacturing Shred-Trucks there has been a number of innovations that have changed and improved the mobile shredding industry. You can look at used Shred-Truck websites to see a history of the developments over the years. Many standard features all operators enjoy today, weren't always available.
Tipping bodies, unload conveyors and moving bulkheads have been replaced universally with Walking Floors.
Pushers, packers, rotating fingers and guys with shovels have been replaced with the Screw Auger Compactor every manufacturer produces today.
Cutter stack patterns which used to feature a helix or a few off-set rotations is now commonly set-up with only one knife cutting at any degree in the rotation.
Helical, worm, and cycloidal gearboxes have all been updated to the planetary gearboxes seen today, mainly set-up with one planetary driving each shaft.
The orientation of the Shredding equipment within the truck body used to differ markedly, but now all major manufacturers mount centrally, with the shredder drives perpendicular to the Chassis longitudinals.
To most operators the above seems irrelevant, but the savings in time, efficiency and the reliability benefits are huge. All but one of the innovations above was first designed, developed and tested in-house at AXO and first produced as part of an AXO Shred-Truck. AXO's new MST-6 video shows you some more Shred-Truck innovations that others will follow.
One more thing......It's all electric!
