North American companies lead way in promotion.
When promoting a business to business service such as document shredding, most companies follow the trusted methods, such as telemarketing, direct mail letters, mail shots featuring special offers etc. These all work and should be constant events so a stream of enquiry is generated. In addition to these more traditional marketing initiatives, "Community Shred Days" have now become firmly entrenched in North America, with shredding firms holding events sponsored by organizations such as financial institutions and local police departments. The exposure these events receive is very powerful, with some firms reporting over 500 customers attending per event.
Mobile Shredding is well suited for this type of event and promoted properly they can not only create revenue but can significantly lift the profile of the shredding company. With community shred days now emerging in the UK they are rapidly set to become a standard means of promotion in that and other markets.
Asian Paper Success
The Asian Paper Expo held in Bangkok April 22nd - 24th was an outstanding success, with hundreds visiting the AXO stand over the 3 days. The expo is a major event on the Paper Industry calendar in this region and AXO's display received many positive comments. The display featured several models of AXO shredding machines, including the AXO 408, 608 and 832 models from the electric drive range. AXO recently supplied a Mobile Shredding Truck to a major player the Bangkok waste paper collection market, a market where the volume of confidential document shredding is steadily increasing.
Lighter trucks - more Payload
A key profitability factor in both mobile and off site shredding is maximizing payload in order to reduce the frequency that a truck is required to unload. AXO engineers have recently been targeting several areas in order to reduce the mobile shredding vehicle weight. By moving to a lighter body panel, significant weight savings have been made. Our smaller WM408 Mobile Shredding Truck has had a massive saving of over 650kg in weight and this is transferred directly to the payload capacity. The new paneling system comes with the added benefit that it enables the rear doors of the truck to have internal locks and creates a flush finish to the doors. This creates an unobstructed surface on which to advertise the shredding service.
