Sydney companies go with AXO
While the Australian confidential destruction market has until recently been almost solely off-site shredding based, it seems things are about to change. Recently two AXO mobile shredding trucks were commissioned for two different companies in Sydney, and the move towards mobile shredding seems to have met strong demand from end users, with both trucks quickly clocking up the shredding hours.
With a population of well over 3 million people, Sydney is larger than some cities in North America that have dozens of trucks servicing the market. In Sydney however, mobile shredding has only recently been on offer and the potential for additional mobile shredding trucks is substantial.
Mobile shredding has great potential in a business orientated and modern city like Sydney, and the future looks bright for those getting in at the beginning and quickly building a valuable customer base. The customer bases will in future be highly sort after by corporations with deep pockets - just as has occurred in other markets!
AXO trucks destined for Eastern Europe
This month AXO will supply DAF LF45 / AXO WM408 model mobile shredding trucks to companies in Warsaw, Poland and Riga, Latvia. Although these cities are substantial and modern, mobile shredding is relatively new to both when compared with other European centers.
Although a long way behind North American cities in terms of numbers of mobile shredding trucks, the catch up time for service penetration in cities such as Warsaw, Riga and Sydney (see above article) is expected to be rapid as shredding service customers quickly adopt what has become common practice in other markets.
Shredding pharmaceutical labels in Toronto
An electric drive AXO shredder was installed recently at a specialist label printing plant in Toronto, Canada, where it proved a far better solution than other shredding machines the customer assessed.
The customer, one of the largest printers of pharmaceutical labels in Canada, needed a solution to destroy the overprints or "not to be used" labels. They had tested other shredding machines, but found the processing speed of the rolls of labels was too slow - they needed a machine that would quickly grab the product and pull it through the machine rather than slowly nibble at the rolls. They also had a power supply restriction, so needed a machine that could work within their site parameters.
The AXO WM608e model was tested off site and the throughput and cut-size performance exceeded requirements. When the machine was installed onsite, the Dual Soft Starters and AXO SmoothShred Current Control System ensured that operating the machine had a lesser effect on the current supply than would be expected for a shredder of the same 30kW power rating. The new machine has streamlined the destruction process, saving time and money.
