on site shredding M & J Bowers Enter On Site Shredding

Yeovil based M & J Bowers has become the latest Off site Shredding Company to add On Site Shredding to their business model. Having just taken delivery of an AXO 608 Mobile Shredding Truck they now offer a complete service for on and off site shredding covering the South West. The AXO 608 features a shredder capable of shredding up to 2200kgs per hour and holds 5500kgs a discharge conveyor is used for unloading. The truck also features remote engine start stop which saves fuel and time, minimising the impact on the environment.

Commenting on his decision to enter the On Site Shredding market John Bowers, Managing Director of M & J Bowers comments "We are excited to expand our services into the On Site shredding market covering the South West which is dominated by some larger companies. M & J Bowers is able to offer very high service levels and we would encourage existing users of Mobile Shredding Services to compare the service and pricing against ours. We believe that we run the fastest most efficient Mobile Shredding Truck in the South West and this allows us to be competitive. We naturally chose AXO as their shredders offer high throughput and load capacity with minimal maintenance. We did consider another shredding company but our research suggested that AXO was the company to choose.

Commenting on the sale Daniel Hawtin, European Sales Manager of AXO Shredders comments "M & J Bowers already run a highly efficient offsite shredding plant and John is clearly determined to ensure that businesses are aware of his new capability. I believe that John's 608 Mobile Shredding Truck is the quickest Mobile Shredding Truck in the South West and this will undoubtedly lead to interest from companies wishing to reduce direct costs in difficult financial times."

M & J Bowers was established in 1973 and recycles in excess of 100 tonnes per week. www.mjbdestruct.co.uk

Three is the magic number at Russell Richardson & Sons Ltd

They say the best things come in three's and Sheffield based Russell Richardson & Sons Ltd are certainly reinforcing that statement. Not only have they just relocated their head office after 9 years they have also invested ?200,000 in a full plant setup which included an AXO WM832e-16 shredder. The final piece of news is that they have become the first UK Company to order an AXO 408 7.5t Metro Mobile Shredding Truck.

Commenting on the move Jonathan Richardson Managing Director of Russell Richardson comments "We had been looking to move premises for quite some time, however we had never really found a building that met our requirements and location. Following a recent increase in new business which resulted in some larger accounts being won, the need to find a new Head Office became essential. Our new head office is large enough to allow for the growth we have planned in our five year plan and is conveniently situated just minutes from the M1 Motorway."

The AXO WM832e-16 is one of AXO's most popular electric shredders with more than 70% of them being owned by customers who have purchased multiple units. The throughput of this machine is 4000kgs per hour and is the fastest high security shredder AXO currently manufactures. Commenting on his decision to purchase a WM832e-16 Jonathan comments "I was aware of the capabilities of this shredder but upon looking at one working we were surprised at how aggressive it was. We witnessed the shredder shredding dense boxes of paper and it didn't reverse once. The fact that it also came with Soft Start Technology helped us as it wasn't as power hungry as other shredders. We have two men feeding this machine and they cannot keep up."

Finally Jonathan has just become the first UK Company to purchase an AXO 408 7.5t Metro Mobile Shredding Truck. The truck which is in build now and will be Russell Richardson's fourth AXO Mobile Shredding Truck will be completed mid January 2010 and features a number of key differences. These include AXO's new Anti Bridging System which forces paper into the shredder preventing bridging, remote engine start stop, storage area for cardboard and a new weighing system. Jonathan comments "We traveled to Dublin to see a 7.5t AXO truck in operation and were impressed with how quiet it was and the overall compact size which makes it easier for city centre use. We feel that having the smaller truck will allow us to utilise our bigger trucks to jobs that justify the throughput."

The AXO 408 7.5t Metro is the smallest truck in the industry that has a payload of 2200kgs and a throughput of 1200kgs per hour.

Russell Richardson & Sons Ltd is a family business which was founded in 1978 and employs 21 staff. Recycling 100 tones per week and provides a national shredding service throughout the UK. www.russellrichardson.co.uk

on site shredding Assured Security Shredding is leading the way.

It has been a busy year at Assured Security Shredding, the West London security shredding business have installed a new shredder/baler system, signed an exclusive agreement with AXO Shredders, launched franchising and have just sold the first franchise in South Wales.

The new shredding and baling system is an AXO WM608e coupled with an Anis Trend 75.75 fully automatic baler and is the 5th system where Anis Trend has been installed with an AXO Shredder since 2008. The system was designed to meet the needs of Mobile Shredding Truck offloads and also additional shredding through the AXO WM608e which shreds approximately 2 tonnes per hour depending on material.

Since the installation Assured Security Shredding have won some large contracts which has resulted in the system being ran to full capacity already. Commenting on his new shredder/baler system Neil Taylor, Managing Director of Assured Security Shredding comments "We decided to purchase the AXO shredder coupled with the Anis Trend Baler having met with Jeff Jones from Autobaler and Daniel Hawtin from AXO.
The system was proven to work well under pressure as another UK system consistently shreds and bales at 5.8 tonnes per hour. We needed a baler that was going to last for years and be 100% reliable and so far that has proven to be the case. The ordering process was simple, and the communication from initial design to final installation was seamless. The installation and commissioning process was completed in just 3.5 days. Since the system was installed it has exceeded our expectations and has been baling up to 160 tonnes per week"

Assured Security Shredding also approached AXO earlier this year to discuss the potential of a five year agreement for the supply of Shredder/Baler installations and Mobile Shredding Trucks as they launch franchising in the UK. Neil Taylor comments "We wanted to have an agreement in place for future equipment which would ensure our franchisees could get very high levels of equipment and after sales service. At that time we hadn't yet purchased our first AXO Shredder but we had heard strong reports about the company and the growth in the UK was testament to the support they offer their customers. It is vital that parts can be sourced immediately should a breakdown occur and having seen all parts available on the shelf in Bedford we were confident AXO was the company to partner with going forward.
